Lead Operator

About this opportunity:

This position will lead the plant/field operations team and will be accountable to deliver a safe, efficient, and compliant operation while promoting a culture built on corporate values. This role requires technical proficiency and competency in all aspects of Convention's production facilities operations and requires a thorough understanding of Conventional' s safe work practices, programs and procedures.

Work Environment:

  • This position will be based in Grande Prairie, AB and currently assigned to the Wapiti field.

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 5 days on 2 days off day, Monday to Friday.

  • Work purpose only vehicles will be provided for transportation to site based on a geographical map and area of residence.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of the asset's production goals.

  • Supports the Superintendent, Area Coordinator and engineering with the development of annual OPEX budgets.

  • Identifies potential risks in conflicting schedules, Health & Safety, adherence to policy commitments and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS).

  • Provides guidance on effective troubleshooting of assets to meet deliverables on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supports resolutions on process upsets.

  • Monitors team performance to support members cross training and effectiveness.

  • Manages Development Plans and Performance Assessments.

  • Assisting Engineering on facility projects, planning, and execution, playing a key role in succession planning.

Who you are:

  • Minimum High School diploma

  • 10+ years of relative experience in gas/oil field operations with inlet with blow case and compression experience.

  • Passionate about mentoring others to develop future leaders.

  • Drives culture change consistently to ensure alignment with Cenovus values and standards.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
